Teai is our office manager and team leader. When she was 14 years old her father opened up a pet store called “Extreme Exotics”. They had snakes, alligators, monkeys, lizards, and even a cougar. When their animals were sick, she would help treat the animals to help them get better. This is how she knew that veterinary medicine would be her career path. Although she loves animals from all walks of life, she is really passionate about exotic animals. Teai says the favorite part of her job is the puppies and kittens! Not only are they adorable, but the fact that she gets to watch them grow into thriving adults is very rewarding. She also enjoys getting to know clients on a personal level. This makes interacting with pet owners more natural and personable. Some of her favorite hobbies include hiking with her son, volunteering at the Houston Zoo, Mudding, and playing cards/board games during her family nights.

Rebecca is our lead veterinary technician. She earned her A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from ____ and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has always had a passion for animals, so she decided to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather and make a career in the veterinary field. Rebecca loves learning new things and says the best part about her job is waking up every day to do a job she loves. Her hobbies and passions include anything outdoors, traveling and photography. She also loves spending time with her 2 dogs, Tiekan and Tank and her cat, Bagheera.

Maria earned her A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Some of Maria’s hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, binge watching TV shows, cuddling her fur babies and collecting different lipsticks. Her favorite foods include, but are not limited to, sushi and anything spicy. Maria decided to make a career in the veterinary industry because she has had a passion for animals for as long as she can remember and she knew from a young age that she wanted to be in the medical field. Therefore, veterinary medicine was the perfect career choice for her. Maria says her favorite part about being a veterinary technician is the feeling she gets when a pet has a positive experience during their visit. Sometimes pets associate “going to the vet” with negative or scared emotions. So, it’s very rewarding when we are able to make the process as smooth as possible and have our furry friends leave purring or wagging their tails, excited for their next visit.

Karen was one of the very first technicians hired when Friendship Animal Hospital opened its doors in 2009. She has over 20 years of experience, with degrees in nursing and in veterinary technology. She says her favorite part of her job is making animals feel better when they are under the weather, and of course puppies and kittens! Some of Karen’s hobbies include reading, needlepoint and genealogy. Her favorite foods are Chinese and BBQ.
